With summer nearly upon us, many of us are probably wondering if they can create a phone that has internet service, checks email, distracts your kids with games and makes calls - why is it that we haven't got a cure for cellulite? Hasn't technology come far enough that we can tackle really serious questions, like how am I going to wear that bathing suit this summer without people mistaking the back of my thighs for cottage cheese? The good news is there is technology to reduce the appearance of cellulite... but the bad news is cellulite is permanent and it never goes away.

As seen on The Dr. Oz Show, in this $12 million industry to fight cellulite, there are a myriad of procedures, products, creams, gels and even foods that you can eat that claim to reduce cellulite. No joke, even the skinniest woman can have cellulite - reports say 9 out of 10 women have some form of this crazy fat that shows up on the butt, the back of the thighs, bellies and even arms. Cellulite Reduction is a serious issue that many women are seeking treatment for.
If you're ready to go to the next level in treatment, meaning you've tried the creams, the at-home devices and changing your diet, and you're still unhappy with the appearance of your cellulite - there are advanced procedures for cellulite reduction.
Cellulite is fat that acts irregularly - they are pockets of fat that refuse to lie flat and push up against the connective tissue which holds skin and fat together. "We know that cellulite involves multiple layers of the skin, including fat cells that are in an abnormal location in the dermis as well as an irregular arrangement down in the deeper fat layer of the tissue," says renowned New York dermatologist Dr. Neil Sadick. In doing so, the raised fat creates the hills and valleys characteristic to the texture of cottage cheese or an orange rind.
One of the newer technologies used to treat cellulite, Reaction by Viora used radio-frequency energy to attack the irregular fat cells on the multiple layers of skin. Dr. Sadick continues, "The Reaction by Viora targets both mid-dermal and subcutaneous fat cells - and also is able to heat the surrounding septum around fat cells - producing a more effective cellulite outcome for our patients."

According to the manufacturer, between 3-6 sessions are required and Dr. Sadick says, "Patients are able to see results relatively soon and regular maintenance is simple. Most patients see significant results after 2 or 3 treatment sessions and most individuals have continued improvement for approximately 6 months. After which, they will require single maintenance treatments to continue the outcome." He recommends that patients return every 6 months for the maintenance follow-up treatment.
