Sound Surgical Technologies, the creators of the Vaser Lipo System have developed a new technology called MedSculpt(TM). This machine combines ultrasound and massage therapies to complement body contouring procedures, both before and after the actual treatment.

MedSculpt is completely non-invasive and has a lymphatic massage component that enhances circulation. It makes use of specialized handpieces for elastomeric massage, ultrasound physiotherapy and zonal massage. The stimulation of the subcutaneous tissues pre- and post-liposuction procedures is meant to:
- Loosen the fatty tissue matrix and relax the patient prior to infiltration
- Improve lymphatic and venous circulation
- Minimize postoperative pain and swelling
- Smooth out contour irregularities
- Temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite
Treatment can be customized to each patient's needs with the multiple handpieces and settings. There are three hand pieces for the MedSculpt machine; one for deep elastomeric massage, another for ultrasonic physiotherapy, and finally one for zonal massage for lymphatic drainage and reflexology treatments.
