What's New: BodyTite

BodyTite lipolysis is a new system just arriving on the horizon that uses a promising new technology.

BodyTite from Invasix is a new lipolysis technology that uses radio frequency internally to remove fat and tighten skin. The technology is currently undergoing clinical testing for FDA approval and is showing promise.

RFAL - Radio Frequency Assisted Liposuction is a new entry in the lipolysis device market. According to Invasix's website, the treatment is quicker than laser lipo procedures such as SmartLipo and SlimLipo as the unit is an all-in-one coagulator/aspirator that breaks up and removes the fat and tightens the skin all at the same time. In laser lipolysis technology, the fat is melted by the laser, then the surgeon goes back in with suction to remove the melted fat, then goes back in again with heat to tighten the skin.

Using an external temperature monitor along with the internal probe, the surgeon can measure the temperature as he performs the procedure to ensure even heat distribution without going over the heat limit.

Also, the BodyTite provides impedance monitoring. This ensures consistent heat and energy output for consistent fat removal and skin tightening. There is an added safety benefit of an automatic shutoff when the heat gets too high or if one of the electrodes monitoring the heat and energy usage is disrupted in some way.

Similar to laser lipo, the BodyTite procedure can be performed under local or light anesthesia, rather than putting the patient all the way under general anesthetic. Downtime is minimal and patients report less bruising, swelling and pain. It can work on several areas of the body and the hand piece is adjustable to control treatment depth.

BodySculpt is currently undergoing clinical trials to verify the safety and efficacy of the machine. Check back with AHB for more information in the future.
