The Geneveve is a single, 30 minute procedure utilizing RF energy (radiofrequency) heating and surface cooling to stimulate collagen production in the vaginal wall.
The device uses a cryogenic tip to immediately cool the treated area, allowing the Geneveve to deploy higher temperatures and achieve treatment depths unattainable with many of the first generation RF devices.
Unlike a laser, the Geneveve does not destroy vaginal tissue resulting in no downtime.
Doctors and patients state that Geneveve results include vaginal tightening, lubrication, sexual arousal and assists with urinary incontinence issues.
Although the device is new to the US, it has been used in Europe for over four years.
According to a study by Viveve:
- There were NO serious adverse events in patients treated with the active treatment
- Improvement of arousal and/or orgasm was statistically significant as self-reported by 9 out of 10 patients (Data on file and publication pending)
- Two previous pilot clinical trials conducted by Viveve in the U.S. and Japan, showed sustained tightening at 12 months.
