Ellacor System with Micro-Coring technology is a medical device that is intended for use by medical professionals to treat moderate to severe wrinkles in the mid and lower face. The device uses a micro-coring technology to create tiny channels in the skin, which can help stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of wrinkles.  The system is for Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV.

The Ellacor System is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require incisions or anesthesia, and it can typically be performed in a medical office or clinic. The procedure involves the use of a handheld device that creates precise micro-channels in the skin, removing skin on the microscale for an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles and improving the overall texture and tone of the skin.

The micro-channels created by the ellacor System with Micro-Coring technology do extend through the full thickness of the skin, the size and depth of the channels are carefully controlled to minimize the risk of scarring. While scarring is always a potential risk with any invasive procedure, the goal of the Ellacor System is to create micro-channels that are small enough to allow for rapid healing without leaving visible scars.

The amount of skin that can be removed during a single Ellacor treatment session will depend on a variety of factors, including the size and location of the treatment area, as well as the individual patient's skin type and condition. But it is possible to remove up to 8% of the skin's volume during a single treatment.
