New Resurfacing Device for Fine Lines and Skin Tightening -- The ClearLift

New York's Dr. Bruce Katz is on the View today discussing the newest ways to shrink, lift and tighten skin

Tired of wrinkles around your neck? Dr. Bruce Katz of the JUVA Skin & Laser Center in NYC is on the View today discussing the new Alma ClearLift Treatment.

The procedure is described as a state of the art, non-ablative treatment alternative to traditional skin resurfacing and surgical face lifts that boasts virtually no pain and no downtime. American Health and Beauty doesn't have any physician reviews of ClearLift yet, but the initial impressions from physicians and patients has been positive.

Alma Laser, the company that markets the device states that the treatment is also effective on sensitive areas that tend to scar with laser-based treatments like the skin around the eye, chest area, loose skin on the neck and the delicate area around the mouth.

"ClearLift is unique from every other laser in its category," says Dr. Macrene Alexiades-Armenakas, MD, PhD, a board certified dermatologist practicing in New York in a press release earlier this year. "The laser penetrates deep but by bypassing the outer most layer of skin and not wounding it, it renders the treatment virtually painless, with no downtime while being extraordinarily safe. It is, therefore, the treatment of choice for repairing as well as treating sensitive areas, which historically were very difficult to treat due to their association with an increased risk of burns and scars."

Important to note that although some patients have seen improvement after the first visit, 3 to 5 treatments about 1 month apart are typically required to see optimal results. According to the company, no numbing is required prior to treatment and patients return to work the same day and have no prolonged facial redness and swelling.

Although this procedure looks very promising, we strongly suggest shopping for doctors who provide solutions for your specific issues and not just technologies presented on TV. There are many skin tightening and laser skin resurfacing devices on the market and we recommend consulting with a couple providers in your area for procedures that will have the best results for you.

The treatment runs $600 to $750 per treatment.
