As recently seen on The Doctors, a new device from Syneron, the ePrime has been dubbed the "Super Age Eraser" for it's minimally invasive ability to erase signs of aging. The ePrime delivers heat though radio frequency energy via a group of pulsating small needles that are injected into the deep dermis of the skin. Without heating the outer layer of skin, ePrime encourages collagen growth and skin tightening.
According to Syneron, the intentional fractional injuries to the deep dermis create a trifecta of anti-aging results: new collagen and elastin growth and the development of natural hyaluronic acid in the treated area. Hyaluronic acid is a key component in many of the dermal or facial fillers in the aesthetic market now used to address wrinkles. Collagen and elastin growth adds more volume to the face, making skin tone look more youthful and the face itself fuller. And according to dermatologist Dr. Mitchell Chasin, "That's what patients want, they want to age gracefully, naturally and they want a long lasting result."
The procedure takes approximately an hour and immediately after the procedure, patients will have a little redness and some mild swelling, which will abate by the next day, allowing the patient to return to work and normal activity. "In about three weeks, the signs of youth will begin to reappear: better contour of the chin, tightness of skin, a thee dimensional effect," describes Dr. Chasin.
