It's that time of year again. Clothes get skimpier and your holiday indulgences are exposed. Jeans may fit well in the winter, but a bikini doesn't work as well. Start taking steps now and you'll be sexy and confident with a body you'll want to show off, not hide. Here's the plan of attack:

  1. The Workout If you take control now, it is quite possible to lose a few pounds in the coming weeks, but we're really just trying to polish. If you've got a regular split that you do, (arms and chest on Monday, etc.) keep it. Just change the rep scheme. You'll want to do 3 sets of each exercise for each body part, with very little rest in between; no more than 30-60 seconds. Always do 15-20 reps instead of the regular 10-12. This will ensure that you burn more calories and switch to toning mode. Also, add 30-45 minutes of cardio either in the morning before breakfast or right after your regular workout. This will help you burn even more calories and also lose unwanted water weight. You need to be at least 3.0 speed and at least 10 incline on any machine. For the Stairmaster, just put it on level 5 fat burner.

  2. The Diet If you haven't already, go ahead and take out all sugary treats, breads, cereals, fast food, and junk food. You need to be eating things that are as natural as possible. Also, as it gets closer to spring break, limit your intake of complex carbs to no more than 20g per meal, except breakfast which can be no more than 40g. Your last 1-2 meals should be lean meat and veggies. Still, make sure to take in about 1200 calories each day to give your body enough fuel

  3. The Extras First, drink a gallon of water a day so your body will have what it needs and won't have to hold any extra water. This will make you appear much thinner and less squishy. Try not to eat anything too salty because sodium can make you hold water. Your goal is really just to eat the basics and not go overboard chasing taste for a little while.

You may not lose every pound you want, but you'll step out looking your best in no time. With these nifty tricks you can definitely look your best and we've got a feeling your best looks pretty good.
