Sugary foods and fatty foods may taste good, but they're a one way ticket to being overweight and at risk for developing heart disease, diabetes and more. Kicking your addiction to sugar is the only way you're ever going to put those cravings behind you. Dr. Mehmet Oz of The Doctor Oz Show tells Good Morning America his 4 step method to detoxing your liver in order to move past the addictions that are blocking your weight loss attempts.

- Eat your veggies - For one week replace grains with broccoli or cauliflower, and make sure to eat more garlic, cloves and leeks.
- Vitamin B for withdrawal - The word addiction might seem harsh, but it is truly serious. Dr. Oz says that a vitamin B complex and 1,000 mg/day of chromium pocilinate will help keep sugar withdrawal at bay.
- 4:1 Ratio for Meat - Meat should take up a quarter of your meal, and leafy greens and citrus should be featured more in your meals.
- Deal with Emotions - Emotional eating is a common problem. We turn to food to celebrate and to relieve stress. But this unhealthy habit is causing weight gain, so it's important to identify when you're really hungry and when you just want to eat.
