Mark Haub ate junk for 10 weeks and still lost 27 lbs.

Nutrition professor Mark Haub undertook what's now known around the world as the "Junk Food Diet." As he describes to The Doctors today, before beginning the diet, Haub consumed about 2,600 calories per day and dropped that down to 1,800. He claims that for weight loss, what matters is your total calorie consumption, and not the nutritional value of the food.

About two-thirds of his diet was made up of junk food and he also took a multivitamin and drank a protein shake. While Haub was able to lose weight on the diet, he does not recommend taking up the diet as a regular lifestyle. According to CNN.com, he says "I'm not geared to say this is a good thing to do.... I'm stuck in the middle. I guess that's the frustrating part. I can't give a concrete answer. There's not enough information to do that."
