Every Woman's Dream - Using Fat from Your Butt to Make Your Breasts Bigger

The doctors of the Lone Tree Facial, Plastic, and Cosmetic Surgery office of Lone Tree, Colorado are breaking new ground in body sculpting by removing fat from one part of the body using Vaser Lipo then placing the fat back in a different part of the body

"I wish I could just take some of the fat out of my butt and put it in my breasts" - a not-so-uncommon thing for a woman to say or feel. We've long wanted to just make a shift; too much here, too little there, why can't we just switch them? Well now, we can.

The doctors at Lone Tree Facial, Plastic, and Cosmetic Surgery have been performing this exact fat transfer procedure, removing fat from the buttocks and placing it in the breast. The office has also used fat for hand rejuvenation, plumping up the hands with fat that could be removed from the backside, hips, or even stomach.

The doctors use VASER Lipo, which utilizes ultrasonic energy to melt and break up unwanted fat. Ultrasound, as an energy source, is tissue selective - meaning it can be directed to targeted fatty tissue, leaving surrounding tissue largely undisturbed. That fat is then suctioned out and collected in syringes, then injected into the desired area.

The jury is still out on this procedure's safety. Many are concerned that the fat injected into the breasts may impede current mammography technology, making it more difficult if not impossible to detect cancerous tumors. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons recently issued a report that eases some of those concerns but advises doctors to tread lightly in this area.

One important thing to note is that 400cc's of fat is not the same as 400cc's of saline. You will not be able to go from an 'A' cup to a 'D' cup, but a smaller adjustment, say 'B' to 'C' is possible.

Dr. John Millard appeared on the CBS Early Show on October 5, 2009 to discuss the Vaser Hi-Def procedure.
