Recently featured on CBS Channel 8 in San Diego, the newly FDA approved Vanquish is making a stir in cosmetic surgery circles.

Designed to treat larger areas of the body in a short period of time without without even touching the skin, this new technology is generating positive results for plastic surgeons and medical spas around the country.
Dr. Louis Cole, a cosmetic surgeon in Atlanta, says this non-invasive procedure is a game changer, as it is the only technology available to provide a quick, comfortable treatment and reasonably fast results.
The Vanquish is designed to never touch the skin, with placement approximately one inch above the treatment area. Radio frequency waves are emitted from the device, which are created to target and destroy excess fat cells without damaging the surrounding skin or muscle. Patients may feel a warming sensation during the procedure, but most people usually do not feel any pain.
Once treated, the fat cells will be filtered out of the body through natural processes within weeks. Many patients have reported losses of up to three inches and two to three pounds after a series of treatments. Patients can return to work or normal activities immediately following treatment. There is no downtime and typically, patients who have undergone Vanquish begin seeing results days after whereas fat freezing and other treatments can take weeks.
According to a recent article in Allure Magazine: "Of 25 patients studied, all had visible results after the first treatment and, after the full course of four sessions, 59 percent of abdominal fat was destroyed, on average, resulting in a two-inch (and in a few cases, a three-inch) reduction in waist size."
The device does not contact the patient's skin, requires no pain medication or anesthesia and claims no downtime. BTL Aesthetics of Massachusetts has released data stating that the Vanquish is safe with only mild to moderate redness and/or swelling in the treatment area typically resolving an hour or two after treatments.
Vanquish is FDA cleared for deep tissue heating, and it is used off-label for fat reduction.
The ideal candidate is someone who is probably 10 maybe 20 pounds from their ideal weight, who doesn't want the downtime associated with liposuction or body sculpting.
Dr. Cole even used the treatment on himself saying, "I went down about an inch and a half with 2 treatments on my belly so I was a guinea pig and when it worked on me I figured I was going to jump in."
