Comfort Pulse Technology has been added to Solta Medical's Thermage system. The old system has been overhauled with improvements for both the aesthetic provider and the patient. A new ergonomic vibrating hand piece and new treatment tips are reported to provide a vastly greater level of comfort for the patient.
Solta Medical reports four benefits of the new system:
The multifunctional hand piece is ergonomically designed, making it easier on the operator.
Patient comfort is improved thanks to Comfort Pulse technology makes the procedure more enjoyable.
A more uniform delivery of the therapeutic temperature leads to a more consistent result.
The redesigned Face Tip 3.0 and Thermage Body Tip 16.0 allow for quicker treatment and high patient satisfaction.
Dr. Bill Johnson of Innovations MedSpa, one of the most experienced Thermage treatment centers in the US, tried the new system on 15 patients over 2 days and was highly pleased with the results. Previously, patients were given medication to ease the discomfort associated with the procedure, and now the medication isn't needed. Dr. Johnson states, "The ability to perform a quality Thermage procedure without the use of medications is a great help to my practice and to my patients. Patients can now have the option of driving themselves."
Dr. Roy Geronemus, director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York and past president of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery says "Thermage utilizes best-in-class radiofrequency technology and now, with the introduction of the Thermage CPT, delivers more therapeutic heat across the treatment area, allowing for a more efficient skin tightening treatment." He also states that his "patients ask for Thermage by name and it is my #1 choice for non-surgical skin tightening."
"My patients overwhelmingly prefer the Thermage CPT system's vibrating hand piece for non-ablative facial skin tightening," said Robert Weiss, MD, of the Maryland Laser, Skin and Vein Institute and past president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. "By delivering more energy with greater comfort, I can provide a more efficacious treatment and increase overall patient satisfaction."
"This is what I have been waiting for from Thermage - advanced skin tightening and body contouring results in a procedure that is both comfortable for the patient and more user friendly for the physician," said A. Jay Burns, MD, assistant professor of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and past president of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. "The vibrating hand piece is a leap forward in providing a more satisfying treatment experience for my patients."
