New York practice, Aristocrat Plastic Surgery & MedAesthetics, recently launched a History of Liposuction infographic. It visually represents the development of liposuction as a procedure and highlights the most significant achievements that improved and, eventually, perfected the procedure.
The roots of liposuction go back to 1920, when surgeons started performing procedures that resulted in extraction of fat from different body parts. The interest in this specific procedure has been continuously on the rise ever since, inspiring various experiments and leading to surgical improvements which, through the decades, brought about the brand new surgical procedure known as liposuction.
