It is estimated that more than 10 million Americans have at least one tattoo, and there are approximately 4,000 tattoo studios in business in the United States. Discover Fit and Health, says approximately 50 percent of those who get tattoos wish they had not gotten them.
According to Artisan Laser Skin Care Center in Manassas Virginia, it can take as many as 12 treatments to completely fade out the colors of the tattoo; but the number of treatments are based on whether the tattoo was applied by an amateur or professional tattoo artist.
Tattoo removal sessions usually last between 10-20 minutes each, but the amount of time is subject to the extent of work that needs to be done. The bigger and more complex tattoos are more time-consuming. Sterile equipment operated by trained professionals is necessary to prevent infections.
