Dr. Kevin Cross, a board certified Plastic Surgeon in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, was recently featured on WPVI ABC 6 News discussing the newest treatment for Cellulite.
According to the segment, "Releases the tethered bands that go between the muscle and the surface of the skin that cause puckering when pulling down on the skin."
The device releases the bands which cause the dimpling in cellulite for a long-term result (possibly permanent, although studies are only 3 years).
According to his website, crossplasticsurgery.com, "Fat removal and body contouring treatments such as BodyFx (radio-frequency), SmartLipo (laser liposuction), and Ultrashape (ultrasound technology) may help the appearance of cellulite by eliminating fat cells. However, they will not address the root cause, which is the flexibility of the fibrous bands."
The U.S. FDA has cleared the System for the long-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks and thighs with no loss of benefit for up to 2 years. Dr. Cross states in the segment that, "now see it last 3 years."
We surveyed practices across the US & Canada and found the Median Cost for the new treatment to be $4,500.
