The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery proudly announces the election of Robert H. Burke, MD, DDS, MS, FACS as treasurer of its Executive Board of Directors, for a second term of office. "I am honored by the confidence expressed by the fellows and members of the Academy in electing me to this prestigious position," said Dr. Burke.
The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery represents cosmetic surgeons in the United States with members throughout the world. Headquartered in Chicago, this is their thirty second year representing Cosmetic Surgery through research, educational, and advocacy efforts. "The American Academy provides the forum for learning and exchanging ideas, facilitating safe, scientifically based cosmetic surgical treatment", according to Dr. Burke.
Dr. Burke is the Director and founder of the Michigan Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He serves as Clinical Professor at Michigan State University and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Michigan. He is principal investigator in FDA breast implants studies for Mentor and Allergan Corporations. He is also involved in laser and 3D imaging research projects as principal investigator. His scientific research on the use of the Astanza Ruby laser for removal of resistant blue and green tattoo colors was reported at the annual AACS meeting.
Dr. Burke serves as trustee of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, is founding editor of "Surge" and is on the editorial board of several scientific journals.
