During the Rosacea Awareness Month of April, Dr. William Groff of Cosmetic Laser Dermatology in San Diego, is highlighting the prevalence of rosacea and the most effective treatment methods. Rosacea is skin condition that affects over 16 million people in the United States alone.
�Rosacea is a chronic skin problem that is usually seen in people over the age of 30 who have fair skin. The most common signs of rosacea are persistent flushing and redness,� explained Dr. Groff.
Signs that one might suffer from rosacea are, bumps or acne, visible Blood vessels, eye irritation, stinging sensations and skin thickening. �There are several triggers that can cause a flare up of rosacea. Patients who suspect they may have rosacea should avoid excessive alcohol, caffeine, hot or spicy food, heat, sun exposure, and stress,� stated Dr. Groff.
