In a recent comprehensive statistical report it was found that the number of male breast reduction surgeries performed in 2013 increased from the year prior. Dr. Joseph Cruise of Newport Beach closely tracks the annually published statistical reports from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and confirms these findings.
"I am nothing short of elated to see gynecomastia surgery continues to rise across the U.S. This means more men are finally getting the treatment they need to correct a problem, which can be very devastating," mentioned Dr. Cruise.
Dr. Cruise also says that while the number of male breast reduction surgeries performed in 2013 were far fewer than many other procedures, the fact that there was an 11% increase over 2012 shows huge promise. This is exciting news and shows the plastic surgery community is heading in the right direction in terms of bringing the topic of gynecomastia out of the closet and to the forefront.
