More and more adults and adolescents and are opting to have Rhinoplasty surgery each year. In fact, a survey from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), indicated a 10 percent jump from 2012 to 2013. It is also the most requested procedure for both men and women under the age of 35.
Rhinoplasty appeals to a more self-aware set of consumers who are looking to improve their appearance on social media sites and avoid bullying. Thanks to less invasive techniques, like those pioneered by top Manhattan facial plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty expert Sam Rizk, MD, FACS, nose jobs are becoming a more realistic option for many consumers.
“As surgical techniques become more advanced we are able to offer patients the luxury of drastically reduced recovery times and minimal scarring,” says Dr. Rizk. “This is a huge factor in most people’s decision to have surgery, since the nose is such a prominent facial feature. Less invasive rhinoplasty techniques allow my patients to get back to work and school more quickly, and enjoy highly natural outcomes that are not easily detected by peers.”
