The EMSELLA from BTL Aesthetics is the first device of it's kind. FDA cleared for treating urinary incontinence, the BTL EMSELLA is a chair that uses a high-intensity electromagnetic field (like an MRI) to activate motor neurons in the pelvic floor.

The EMSELLA uses HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) field to stimulate and cause contractions of the muscles around the pelvic floor, strengthening the pelvic floor and surrounding tissues.

By strengthening the pelvic floor, improvements are seen for Stress Incontinence and Urge Incontinence. According to Medical News Today who suggests that 30% of women aged 30 to 60 may suffer from it, "Urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine; in simple terms, it means a person urinates when they do not want to. Control over the urinary sphincter is either lost or weakened."

One 28 minute session will cause 11,200 contractions, the equivalent of performing 11,200 Kegel exercises. The EMSELLA is a disruptive technology to traditional Urogynecological treatments:

  • FDA approved for both Male & Females
  • Stress, Urge & Mixed Incontinence
  • Non-Surgical, Non-Invasive procedure performed on a completely clothed patient

The treatment protocol is a total of 6 sessions, 2 per week for 3 weeks. The cost of EMSELLA is typically $1,800 to $2,500 for 6 treatments and varies around the country. Although this device is FDA approved, it is not covered by Medicare or Private Insurances at this time.
