Photo rejuvenation is an aggressive medical skin treatment to reverse the signs of aging and thereby improve the health and vitality of skin. Photo-aging results in age spots, actinic keratosis, wrinkles, broken capillaries, blotchy skin, and hyper pigmentation. Most patients wish for easy yet effective solutions that do not disrupt their busy lives. Clinical advancement and sophisticated laser systems offer new treatment options. Photodynamic therapy is an exciting new medical procedure that opens the door to a new FDA approved era of non ablative laser and pulsed light treatments. This therapy combines the application of a photosensitizer (5 ALA, or Levulan) with a laser pulsed light, with dramatic improvements and little downtime or discomfort. Side effects include mild sunburn for 1-2 days with rapid recovery and no risk of scarring. This treatment's main advantage is that is has multiple medical and cosmetic applications. The ideal candidate for photo rejuvenation has sun damaged skin, actinic keratosis, rosacea, acne, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, moderate wrinkles, enlarged pores, or poor skin texture. Following treatment, skin is smoother, softer, and even toned. Acne diminishes or disappears, and pores are smaller. Results often exceed people's expectations.Request a Consultation

The logo of the practice was created by Dr. Skellchock to reflect this unique philosophy. It may seem unusual for a Cosmetic Dermatologist, whose job is to make you look good, take this Integrative approach to caring for her patients. However, once you meet Dr. Skellchock, experience her caring manner and artistic ability, and realize how much she loves what she does, it will all make sense to you.
Dr. Skellchock is a leading expert in all aspects of Cosmetic Dermatology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Zoology. She then graduated with top Honors from the University of Arizona College of Medicine where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. After completing her categorical Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center, she went to San Diego where she completed her dermatology residency at the prestigious University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Oakland, California became her home for the next 13 years, where she was a Senior Partner at The Permanente Medical Group, which is the largest non-profit HMO in the United States. There she took care of patients with advanced, complicated, challenging skin disorders and saw myriads of patients with difficult to diagnose conditions and unusual pathology.
While in Oakland Dr. Skellchock was also an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the renowned University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr. Skellchock was also the medical director for the Vanishing Point Medical Group, leading the direction of the first national laser hair removal company. There she also performed cosmetic dermatology procedures such as BOTOX®, collagen, PhotoFacials, and laser vein treatments in addition to laser hair removal. Not one to let any grass grow under her feet, Dr. Skellchock was also the Editor-in-Chief of SKINCARE TODAY, the first nationally distributed patient and physician oriented, dermatology education publication.
Dr. Skellchock has known Dr. Andrew Weil since her days in medical school, and has always practiced medicine with the caveat that her patients deserve a comprehensive approach to achieve health and wellness. She completed a formal Integrative Medicine Fellowship with him in 2003-2005. She is the only dermatologist in the United States (and perhaps beyond) who has this training in addition to her Dermatology board certification.
Dr. Skellchock completed her Age-Management Certification Program with Cenegenic Medical Institute in 2003. In addition to nutrition and exercise, bio-identical hormones and supplements are used in conjunction with cosmetic procedures to manage the aging process.
Dr. Skellchock has an "eye for beauty" and this is what makes her such a fabulous cosmetic dermatologist. Very few patients want others to know that they've had work done, so she strives to create a natural, more youthful, "rested" look as opposed to that "Boca Babe" stereotype. Always aware of keeping her patients as comfortable as possible, she uses innovative methods to manage discomfort during procedures.
Dr. Skellchock moved to South Florida in 2003 to manage a cosmetic dermatology practice in Coral Springs. She started her own practice in January 2006, and opened her beautiful new Boca Raton office in June 2007.
