Latest Advance in Breast Reconstruction Technology -- The CPX 4 by Mentor

The FDA has recently approved Mentor's CPX 4 tissue expander.

Mentor Worldwide announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted approval for it's CPX4 Tissue Expanders. The CPX4 Tissue Expanders are an important addition to Mentor's popular CPX Family of Tissue Expander Products, which includes proprietary features such as the BufferZone Self‐Sealing Patch and SILTEX Imprinted Texture.

The BufferZone Patch surrounds the integral injection dome to protect at least 50% more of the expander surface area (than the injection dome alone) from accidental needle puncture to minimize and/or prevent device leakage and the need for additional surgery. Unique SILTEX Imprinted Texture does not require the use of salt or sugar crystals.

In June 2013, the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved Mentor's MemoryShape implant, the newest silicone gel-filled, shaped breast implant on the market. This style of implant known as "gummy bear implants" offers more choices for women wanting to enhance their breasts. Three different manufacturers now make shaped silicone gel implants: Sientra, Allergan, and Mentor.
