Controversial topic on the Dr. Oz show, patients seeking Revenge Plastic Surgery. The guest on the show is board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Brent Moelleken from Beverly Hills. While people tend to become over comfortable with their mates, they definitely try to make themselves more marketable if they will be dating.
Dr. Moelleken says, "In our practice, the most valued and needed procedure for recent divorcees is generally a facelift and eyelid surgeries. For the recent divorcee looking for more, that would be our trademarked 360 Facelift. Next in line is body work, including breast lifts/augmentations, tummy tucks and liposuction. Divorcees that are also moms often ask for our Hybrid Tummy Tuck."

Women are not the only ones requesting these types of procedures. Men definitely want to look good post divorce, for two reasons. First, they are back on the open market and many have neglected their appearance during the course of their marriage. Once they hit the dating world, they quickly learn that with a big pot belly and a matching set of jowls their options are more limited in this dog-eat-dog dating world.
So men and women are encouraged to get their physical fitness back before hitting the dating circuit. Many of them need help with diet, exercise and good skin care. Once that is done, they can have their plastic surgery and look fabulous.
Second, many men want to let their ex know what they are missing.
When Dr. Meolleken was asked what was the most unusual request he's received he said, "I had a middle aged man bring in a picture of a child actor from the 80's, complete with butt-part hair. He wanted to look just like that person, price no object. We declined him as a patient. His expectations were unrealistic and a little too unusual."
"I personally believe this is part of the grieving process when a relationship ends. It's never a good idea to have plastic surgery for somebody else, only for yourself. Some people are unhappy with their surgery because they did it for their ex, and when things don't work out, they blame their surgery for not fixing the problem. So experienced plastic surgeons are watchful for patients who are doing surgery for the wrong reason." stated Dr. Meolleken
