Biggest Loser Winner Michael Ventrella Breaks all the Records

Losing more than half his body weight, "The Biggest Loser" winner is committed to his health.

Micheal Ventrella lost an amazing 264 pounds, more than 50% of his starting weight, to win this season's Biggest Loser: Couples. Starting out as the heaviest contestant to ever visit the ranch at 526 lbs. and continued breaking records all season by losing an impressive 34 lbs the first week, dropping 100 lbs faster than any other contestant in the show's history, and being the first to lose 200 lbs while living at the ranch. Last night he beat out second place Ashley to take home the title, and the $250,000 prize.

Still weighing 262 lbs, Michael's weight loss journey isn't over yet. At 6'3", the American Heart Association recommends a weight of 176-200 lbs, so Michael has some more work to do, but he's ready to do it. "Lots of people start 'Biggest Loser' at the place where I'm ending," he said.

Another struggle Michael will face at the end of his weight loss is to repair the loose skin that is left after such a dramatic weight loss. There are many procedures out there that can help, including tummy tucks and a full body lift. Both of these are major surgeries that remove excess skin and fat so that a patient can better enjoy their weight loss. Also available are procedures that remove fat and excess skin from other areas of the body like an arm lift or thigh lift.

Those who have lost some weight and still have a little bit of belly fat they can't seem to shed can also turn to liposuction procedures such as Vaser and SmartLipo to help remove excess fat and tighten skin, rather than actually removing it. These devices deliver a thermal effect to the skin, stimulating collagen growth and bringing about a tightening effect.
