Solta Medical is a medical aesthetics manufacturer and makes three of the industry's premier brands: Thermage, Fraxel, and Isolaz. They announced today the new Fraxel re:store DUAL laser system provides superior results as a treatment for actinic keratoses (AK) ? a precancerous skin condition caused by sun exposure. The Fraxel brand is known as a the gold standard in skin resurfacing for it's ability to refresh aging and sun damaged skin.
An ongoing clinical study at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, dermatologists has found that treatment with the new Fraxel re:store DUAL laser resolved 86% of AK lesions. Additionally, there was great improvement in pigmentation and skin texture after the Fraxel procedure. Dr. Roy Geronemus, director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York says, "if one already has significant sun damage, as can be the case with active golfers, I recommend the new Fraxel re:store DUAL laser treatment. In our study, we found an 86% clearance of AKs after a series of treatments with the Fraxel re:store laser. This rate is comparable or better to other topical therapies; however Fraxel has the added benefit of improving skin quality, color and texture. I refer to the Fraxel re:store DUAL as the best of both worlds - removal of precancerous lesions as well as better looking skin."
Solta Medical is dedicated to promoting skin cancer awareness and is sponsoring professional golf's Fresh Express Classic? at TPC Stonebrae in northern California. Golfer Kyle Reifers is representing Fraxel in the competition and helping to get the word out about protecting your skin from the damages of the sun. "On the golf course, I'm constantly exposed to the sun, but didn't really give a second thought to the damaging effects it might have on my skin," Reifers said. "Meeting with clinicians from Solta Medical, I now have a better understanding about what Fraxel can do to reverse sun damage and what I can do to prevent future damage from occurring while I'm out on the course."
