  • Botox/Dysport: "Ugh, I hate these forehead lines, they make me look so old! I'd love to go get something done, but I hate spending that kind of money on myself." Botox and Dysport both are wrinkle fighting injectables that block nerve receptors effectively paralyzing the muscles. They decrease the appearance of wrinkles and can take years off your face. Treatment only takes about 10 minutes and lasts around 3-4 months. Botox and Dysport are different formulations of the botulinum toxin and are dosed differently so it is important to make the distinction when speaking to your provider.

  • Facial Fillers: While getting ready in the morning "This makeup just isn't cutting it anymore. I've gotta do something about these wrinkles." Fillers are a great way to restore volume. There are many different options available such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse. The benefits and duration of the results vary between them all so weigh your options carefully. Sculptra is a different kind of filler that is better for larger areas. It can plump up the cheeks and works gradually as it stimulates collagen growth and lasts up to a year.

  • LASIK: "I'm so sick of these stupid contacts, I wish I could just wake up and see without stumbling into everything on my way to put them in." Lasik is a wonderful way to correct your vision. The procedure is painless and usually takes about 30 minutes. It isn't without risks however and these need to be discussed with the eye surgeon thoroughly before the procedure.

  • Laser Lipo: "Did you see (insert neighbor name) recently? I think she had something done - like liposuction or something. I hear they have these new laser lipo surgeries you can do and you don't even have to miss work." SmartLipo, Vaser, SlimLipo and many more new versions of liposuction are available that aren't as invasive but have some great benefits. Vaser Lipo is not actually a laser, rather it uses ultrasound energy to break up the fat before suctioning it out. SmartLipo uses a laser to melt the fat before it is suctioned out and offers skin tightening benefits as well. The procedure time varies depending on the area treated but is generally done under local anesthesia and there is very little downtime.

  • Laser Hair Removal/Permanent Makeup: After shaving/applying makeup in the morning "I'm sick of doing this everyday, I just want to get something done and never have to worry about it again." Both of these procedures can give you back significant time in your day. Laser hair removal has advanced since it was introduced and can be done with nearly no pain now. Treatment is fast, though you may have to go back for touch ups as new hair begins to grow. Permanent makeup can also give you time back in the morning. Similar to a tattoo, you can get your eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner and more done so you can roll out of bed and go. The ink will fade over time and may need touching up.
