There are many people who dream of losing weight and are confident that if they simply shed the pounds, they will achieve their dream bodies. Unfortunately for many of these people, even after hard work, diet and exercise, they still find themselves dissatisfied with their appearance and lacking the tone and definition they were dreaming of. While exercise, discipline and hard work may help them shed fat, they are often left with loose skin and unsightly sagging.

Neil Tejwani was one such unhappy dieter. Mr. Tejwani was a contestant on "The Biggest Loser," and delighted himself and the audience by losing over 200 pounds. However, although it had been more than one year since he slimmed down and got in shape, Tejwani was still not pleased with the way he looked. His skin simply would not tighten over his new firm physique.
With a wedding coming up, Neil decided to take action. He found help under he guidance of Dr. David Stoker, a Los Angeles Plastic surgeon at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates. Stoker performed a full body lift for Tejwani, focusing his fixes on the abdomen, upper arms and thighs.
This type of full body lift is a common procedure and one that Stoker performs frequently for post-weight loss patients. Depending on the needs of the patient, Stoker may also perform a tummy tuck, liposuction, or surgery to re-shape droopy or sagging breasts. Stoker reports that "Body lift results can be significant, because it is an extensive procedure," and Neil clearly agrees. He publicly credits Stoker with helping him to "have the body shape that finally reflects his hard work." He calls his transformation an "absolute blessing" and insists he looks "better then I ever have."
Dr. Stoker has performed over 100 body contouring procedures, and was chosen by the New York Times as an expert within the fields of breast surgery, liposuction and tummy tucks in 2004. While he says that "you don't have to be a TV star with 15 pounds of excess skin to benefit from plastic surgery" he also has several cautions for prospective patients.
First, while Stoker recognizes the dramatic change a body lift can make for his clients, he also believes it is very important that patients be "committed for the long term." Stoker felt that Tejwani was an excellent candidate for surgery because "he'd not only kept the weight off, but he'd also made some dramatic changes to his lifestyle and habits." In other words, although a body lift can have a dramatic impact on a patient's appearance, it is ultimately up to the patient to stay in shape to ensure successful results.
Second, Stoker warns that you must completely trust your surgeon before undergoing a procedure. Stoker cautions that "experience and board certification are just as important whether we're talking about large or small scale Los Angeles cosmetic surgery procedures." Tejwani chose wisely in selecting Stoker to be his surgeon, and will be celebrating both his new bride and his new body on his wedding night.
