According to the American Society for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, over 7.5 million people are undergoing a procedure to alter their appearance each year in the United States, and a new study by the same organization in 2006 shows that both men and woman of all ages report a willingness to tell others that they have had a cosmetic procedure done.

Evidently, today's society has embraced that these procedures are further becoming commonplace. Pair these statistics with the numerous television hits that capture the cosmetic surgery experience, such as "Extreme Makeover," "Nip/Tuck," and "Dr. 90210," and it's no secret why the cosmetic surgery business is booming.
