The Lipotherme, which originated in Europe, uses a laser in the cannula that liquefies the fat tissue. The liquefied fat can be removed gently verses traditional liposuction. The entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia typically at the doctor's office and the patient can usually return to work the next day.
Dr. Shapiro states that this procedure costs/ about 1/3 the price of traditional liposuction. Similar to other forms of Laser Lipolysis, like the most popular SmartLipo, LipoTherme uses only tiny incisions for minimal scarring.
